Go Fishing:
  • Schedule a fishing trip on one of the many charters available. Boca Grande is often referred to as the 'Fishing Capital of the World' and is known for Tarpon, Snook, and other native species. Excursions are either 4 or 8 hours and everything you need is provided for you. It's a great adventure for all ages.
Golf:
  • With more than 20 golf courses within a 30 minute drive there is opportunity for golfers of all abilities. Rotonda West alone has 4 courses with a 5th to be completed soon. Beginning in 2007, we have arranged a special golf package for our guests. 2 guests have unlimited play at 4 Rotonda courses (cart not included) for $50 per week. This is an extraordinary value for guests coming to Rotonda for golf.

Visit the Edison/Ford Estates in Nearby Fort Myers:
  • The winter homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford it's a very popular tour that is worth the trip.
Take an Air Boat Ride:
  • Visit the Myakka River State Park. It's about a 40 minute drive north and is the Oldest State Park in Florida. Air boat rides, tram tour, canopy walk and Scenic Park drive. Bike and Kayak Rentals, Food Concessions, Gator Watching and more. It is an amazing place with opportunities for many wildlife viewings.

Sunset Cruise:
  • Take a cruise with Grande Tours in Placida. They have sunset cruises several nights a week in addition to daily scenic cruises to secluded islands off the coast. This is an informative and relaxing way to see the variety of birds and ecology of Charlotte Harbor.
Tour the Boca Grande Lighthouse:
  • Drive over the causeway bridge from Placida to Boca Grande and at the southern most tip of the island you will enter the Boca Grande Lighthouse State Park. Tour the Lighthouse Museum, Church and take a walk along the beach. Plan your trip at the end of the day and watch the Sunset over the Gulf. Then stop just down the street at South Beach Grill for a fabulous meal right on the beach.
Beach Day:
  • No trip to the area is complete with a day at the Englewood/Manasota Beach named one of the finest in Florida.

These are some of our favorite things to do when we visit Rotonda West. Of course, often we find it hard to drag ourselves away from the Villa. Relaxing in the sun loungers while the kids play in the pool, we enjoy the time to do nothing. Eating meals on the lanai and playing games in the evening. It's a great way for families to reconnect and get away from the usual routines.
